Evidenzer – A New Breath-Alcohol Analyzer For Evidential Testing

Background Between 1989 and 2002 the only approved instrument for evidential breath-alcohol testing (EBT) in Sweden was Intoxilyzer 5000S (1). During this time about 160,000 EBTs were performed with 150 Intoxilyzer instruments located throughout the country (1,2). When a new generation of EBTs was being considered the police authorities desired that the instrument should be functional both at a police station and at the roadside.
